Rapat Kerja 2007

Last week, i went to a company's meeting in Bogor. It's about 30 minutes drive if you choose the right time to go there. We went about 3pm and we reached there about 3.40pm. This meeting was attended about 70 from 900 employees. It started from friday night till sunday afternoon. We all stayed at Novotel Bogor. The hotel was excellent, nice room, big garden but i don't like the swimming pool, it's not big, but longgggggg..... It only suit for 1 swimming adults. Weird, huh...

The only activities we've done is eating, meeting, eating and eating.. I feel my ass is getting bigger each time i eat. Friday was alright, everybody slept late preparing for their own presentations for the next day.
Saturday was a heavy day. It started at 9am after breakfast, and the next recess was at 12noon as it was for us to take our lunch. And we started again at 1pm and it ended at 6pm. It was not all, the meeting continued at 8 after dinner and ended at 10.30pm. But, i managed to get reflexiology between dinner and the next schedule. As a result of that, i felt sleepy.. :)
To refresh ourselves from that heavy day, we went to hotel's bar to listen to live music. Unfortunately, the life music was ended at 11pm, closed with our request, "Have Fun Go Mad".

That what's friends are for..

It's so sad to realize that what you call a friend is leaving to pursue other job in different company. Am so sad now.. He's gonna be gone next week. I doubted that we can see each other again.. But, i just wish good luck and support him whatever he wants to do.. That what's friends are for, rite..

2 desperate women

Yesterday afternoon was windy, heard that some strong winds, whatever they call it, is coming towards Indonesia. Everywhere in indonesia has experienced this 'strong wind'. But it did not stop us, the 2 desperate women, to hang out after work. We went to this nice club near our office and have 2 rounds of cocktail, listening to live music, sharing stories, about work, about life, about everything... Everything was so perfect, music was nice, the singer has a great voice.. What a night.. We went home about 10pm. I have to send my friend home first and i reached home about 11.30pm. I took showers and went straight to bed...

Planning to do it again next time..

Learning from mistakes...

Nothing is perfect in this world, except God. People makes mistakes, but does forgiveness can be applied for every mistakes. How can we measure the deepness is the mistakes and weather the mistakes can be forgiven. After mistakes were done, how do we feel about the person? Was it still the same? Or has changed?

Where are all the good that this person has done? Does mistakes cover the goods in a person??

Anyway, I feel sad if a person was judged because a mistake that he's done and the goods that he's done has forgotten. What a pity...

Happy New Year 2007

The holidays continue.. After we spent x'mas in Bali, we went home to Surabaya. A family reunion from my side of family. Unfortunately not everyone was there. My big sister was in charge of games, and my aunt was in charge of inviting a speaker to motivate us to be a good family in God.

x'mas in bali

This is the 1st family reunion from my hubby's side. It was from 22-26 december 2006, we stayed in our uncle's house in bali. The moment we stepped our feet on the land of bali, we felt so relax. What we did is just to be lazy and fat.. Waking up with a cup of hot tea, great weather and it was time to swim with our 2 little nephew. I was the one taking the pictures.. After we took showers, we are ready to go out and shop.

Being an adult??

What is the definition of a word 'adult'? According to http://www.mapinc.org/drugnews/v01/n1048/a02.html, Adult means: self-responsibility. However being an adult is quite a challenge when it comes to real life. Can I consider myself an 'adult'? One of the proven idea of being an adult is your age. From toddler, teens, boy/girl, man/woman, and lastly 'adult'. Even some products are segmented according to the above terms.

In real life, my parents try to stop treated me like a child when i got married. However, Parents are parents, they won't leave you alone.. :) But, am so lucky to be their children. And someday, i would be like them..

Anyway, what i want to higlight on this is that, how do you treat an adult? Leave them to make their own decisions eventhough you know it's wrong?? Or you make decision for them? Or you just leave them alone??? But what if this adult is someone you love.. Will you let them be??

If the meaning of an 'adult' is 'self-reponsibility'.. I would just have to remind them and let them to make their own decisions...

Just remember:

Being an adult does not based on their age, and
Older doesn't mean that you are wiser...

My present for Jesus' birthday

Christmas is almost here. We're counting the days to celebrate Jesus's day. A few days ago, my friend asked me an unusual question. "What is your present for Jesus' Birthday?", he asked through chatting room. I stared at his text and started to think, I live for 30 years and all my life i have not think what would i give to Jesus as his birthday present. If it were my close friend's birthday, i will look for the best gift that suitable for them.

What is the best gift for Him? Have you find yours??

Time to run away from the routine

Routines.. sometime it gets to deep in you.. and you just need to run from it. My friend, Irene, came from Surabaya. She spent her weekend here with me, we eat, we talked, we shopped.. and we eat again.. But time flies, weekend is over. She has to go back to her on life and routines.. The only way to get out from the problem, is to face it..

People need sometimes to be alone.. get out from the routine for awhile.. if not, you'r going to be sick of your life..

Lunch gathering with the girls...

Email was sent to all the girls in the office, inviting them for lunch together. Each was assigned to bring any food they wish. It was last monday, the 20th of November 2006. Me, as usual, was supposed to be the photographer. This is the only picture that was me in it.

Where was I in the year 2000??

I graduated from Sydney in 1998, and went to China to study the language in march 1999. I was in Beijing for about 6 months and i decided to come home in august 1999.. I think I was in Surabaya in the year of 2000. What would happen if i don't go home to Surabaya? What would happen if i stay in Sydney or i stayed more than 6 months in Beijing? Or.. i got a job in Jakarta instead??

Or if i counted a few years back... what would happen if i didn't go to Singapore and Sydney? What would happen if i stayed in Surabaya or most probably went to Jakarta to study instead?

What would my life would be? Is it going to be the same? Worst? or Better?

I wonder...

Tangkuban Perahu

Last week was Idul Fitri day, as Indonesia is a muslim country, most of them are celebrate the event. Whereas us, we were just enjoying our long holiday. My father in law visited us during the week. As most of Jakarta people are coming from other cities, Jakarta became sooooo nicee.... Not many people, no traffic, this is the right time to visit Jakarta. Bandung is the first destination, it only took about 2 hours drive.

Bandung has a great weather, cold and the food... mm.. nyam.. nyam... i think i gain weight there. Bandung is famous with factory outlets, selling branded clothes but very cheap. I went there to shop if i need new clothes..

Next day, we went to tourist place called 'Tangkuban Prahu', it's a place where that mountain is still active. It took about 1.5 hrs to walked down and we even can sit there and cook egg..

The day in Cilincing

It was on the 13th of October 2006, the event started at 4pm, but we left the office about 1.30pm. Total of the kids are 300, therefore i and the team really worked hard to get more participants from the company. Our prayer was answered, we collected 70 participants for this event.

We sang and created games with them, distributing Muslim clothes and food to eat. Looking at those kids smile are the most happiest thing in our life.

Life in Cilincing

Profile:

Most of them are working as 'pemulung' and some of them have no permanent job. They have difficulties to find food for their family, though, going to school is the least priority for them.

School Fascilities:

The school is allocated under the bridge, near the location where they burn the trash.

So, we decided to go there to share our love on the 13 of October 2006.

Looking at myself??

This is the 3rd week i became a lecturer. Waoo.. Never across my mind that i am a lecturer. I love to share my knowledge to others. Last time, with a bunch of babies (preschool), but now i teach university students, semester 3. I am a part-time lecturer, teaching desktop publishing. It was fun,.. It's like looking at myself when i was studying. Some of them are hardworking, some of them are naughty..

My friend offered me this job. It took quite a while for me to think it over. As i am a full time employee in where i work right now. With praying and the support of my hubby, i took this job. Not forgetting to asked my director's permission to work as a part-time lecturer. and... It went well.. phew...

Those kids are between 18-19 years old and still in the mood of playing. I remember when i was studying highschool or even university. The thought of getting serious studying is not in my 1st priority. Thank God I finished school, successfully took my master degree and having a wonderful job & beautiful life. Now, God gives me a chance to share my knowledge with a group of kids. Life is about choices, hoping that they will choose the right path...

Gardening on Sunday afternoon

Sunday Afternoon.. After lunch, we went straight to buy plants for our home. For me, gardening is out of my league. I am just enjoying looking but not doing it or even choosing it. However, For my hubby, gardening is one of his sports. He would walk down the street, stop at every kiosk selling plants, and even spent his time with the seller asking about gardening.

I was just standing behind him, looking bored and tried to ask small questions to make myself interest, but I failed.. :)

After spending that longggggg time on the street, we were heading back. My hubby got so excited and when we reached home, he started to get busy with the plants that we bought. And me, I spent that afternoon alone watching sitcom "Will & Grace". Watching for an hour, i peeped from my room, looking at my hubby... there he is...

SOOO PROUD OF HIM!!!

Look Back..

No photos and no cake for my birthday celebrations this year. Mobile phone is the gift to replace my old mobile phone. Therefore, i don't demand a birthday cake.. :)

My nephew and niece wished me in the morning through phone.. When i talked to the little one, Nia (3 years old). The conversation went like this:

Nia : Happy Birthday, Ik Nga! (Ik means aunty, Nga means middle)
I : Terima Kasih, Nia
Nia : Ik Nga umur berapa? (How old are you?)
I : Ik Nga umur tiga puluh (I am 30 years old)
Nia : 30?? Kok banyak ya?? (Why is it so much?)

Ooo.. my... somebody reminded me that I am old.. hahahaha..
But i don't feel i am thirty.. I just feel that i am 27 at least..

Time flies, even my friendship with Jen2 (my very good friend) is already 10 years. Can't you believe this???

THIS IS MY HOUSE

The number is 37. It has 2 bed rooms, a small kitchen, 3 bathrooms and 2 small rooms for storage and the helper (if i have one). We already moved in for about a month now. Just the 2 of us. The things that i have is my bed, and dining table. Of course there are fridge, water dispenser, and cooking utensils.

We can do anything we want. We can sleep until late, don't clean the house if we are lazy.. We really enjoy being just the 2 of us.

Choosing the furniture is one thing, paying is the other thing.. :) Different taste and opinions simply created small fights, but thank God it ends well. And.. I WON!!

No.. Sometimes i lost too...

Left to right : (top) evllyn, eissel, debby, olive, fenny
(below) niken, dewi, irene, and mieke

Applaude to our moderator, Irene. We all owe it to her.. She has all the patience to gather all the different schedules to get an ideal date to have lunch together. Finally, the date has revealed, 3rd of June 2006, Saturday, in Caza Suki Restaurant in Mahakam, 9 of us were there but minus mbak Dina, Melissa (she is in Australia now) & Pak Edhy. We are the 1st batch of Master Degree in LSPR. We went through ups and downs with irritating teachers, thesis, and tests.. Graduated last year and we met again. Some of them were late (as usual) but most importantly we have fun. Promise to do it again.. Maybe next time with our future kids...
